Self-Assessment

Self-assessment is a process problem. In this process, we need to examine ourselves alone and try to learn more about ourselves in this way. In this process, find your own behavior, attitude, and personal preferences. Accept or change your own strengths and weaknesses through self-examination, and use these to improve your personal skills. I will use this method to explore my own writing level and find out which disadvantages, so as to modify.

Through this course, I learned a lot of content that I had not been exposed to before. It gave me an understanding of what methods and techniques I should use to express myself in the process of writing my essay as well as the skills of how to critique when revising my essay. Looking back at the last class, before we started the first stage of writing, we discussed a lot of language and reading skills in class, and through Amy Tan’s essay, I was able to determine my writing direction more quickly during the first stage of writing. The topic content at that time was the need to write a meaningful moment in my language or reading and writing experience. When I encountered this writing topic, my first thought was to write when I was exposed to my mother tongue and a second language. Before the beginning of this writing, I only thought of the wonderful experience between myself and the language, and when I reflect on the past articles, I think more detailed content should be added to the article, should tell more things about what I encountered learning at the time the difficult process of language, not only a rough description. Previously in my writing, it says: “While we learn our mother tongue well, mastering one or more foreign languages will also enable us to better communicate our thoughts and feelings, appreciate literary works, and master scientific and cultural knowledge, etc. It is also of great benefit to the survival and development of our nation.” In this actual writing process, I have already recognized the role of language attitudes and standards in empowering, oppressing, and hierarchizing languages and their users and being open to communicating across different languages and cultures. And used strategies such as summary and comprehensive argumentation to write a personal position. At the same time, some extracurricular materials were used to explain the content of the whole article in combination with the text. Although there is no practice systematic application of citation conventions. However, many pictures and links are used to support the arguments of the article, so that readers know what the article is telling. Prior to this, I also noticed that my learning style was to learn from vision. I like to combine pictures and diagrams for illustrations, it helps to stimulate my brain and helps me to understand what is going on. Therefore, pictures and videos are used in the article to make it easier for oneself to tell, but also to allow readers to better understand the subject content.

I learned a lot of knowledge about the writing and reading process from this course, writing has become easier and more in-depth topics, and even let me learn a lot of things that I did not know from each writing topic. Through this writing, I learned to be a critical reader. While reading and changing other people’s articles, I also learned how to write better. I will learn the advantages based on other people’s articles to improve my own shortcomings. According to the content of the story, I will present different ideas, and empathize with the response and reflection of the article. With this kind of thinking, when I write phase 2 and phase 3, I will first write my thoughts on the topic, and then read other people’s articles as a critic in class, and I will revise and learn from others’ writing methods. When writing phase 2, I understood and use print and digital technologies to address a range of audiences. “Review the full text from this analysis,it can be clearly seen that Safwat Saleem’s rhetoric effectiveness …ensures that these speeches continue to be continued today.” By watching the video, I learned about the author’s subject audience. The author uses the multimedia mode to spread this idea more widely to a wider audience. At the same time, I also learned and practiced some rhetorical terms and terms in the context of writing. Strategies, every writing, and criticism made me better in the next writing. And phase 3 also allowed me to learn a lot during the writing process. “Chinese, English, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, and French ….are on the verge of extinction and eventually become extinct.” Through the course of these writings, I have found various research sources on the internet to support the credibility and accuracy of the data presented on my topic so that readers can learn more about the real content.

Through these writings, I have mastered a lot of writing methods, and also let me know how to give advice when criticizing other people’s articles. In this regard, every subsequent writing allowed me to formulate reading, drafting, writing, revision, and editing strategies at the beginning of writing so that my articles became more fluent and clear to readers.
